 1. History

Ancient Era:

Bihar, historically known as Magadha, was a major center of Indian civilization and culture. It was the birthplace of two major world religions, Buddhism and Jainism. The Maurya Empire, under rulers like Chandragupta Maurya and Ashoka the Great, was headquartered in this region. Ashoka's reign marked a significant spread of Buddhism throughout Asia.

Medieval Era:

During the medieval period, Bihar came under the control of various Islamic dynasties, including the Delhi Sultanate and the Mughal Empire. The region saw significant cultural and architectural developments, with notable contributions from rulers like Sher Shah Suri, who built the Grand Trunk Road.

Colonial Era:

Post-Independence:

 2. Geography 

Bihar is located in eastern India, bordered by Nepal to the north, West Bengal to the east, Uttar Pradesh to the west, and Jharkhand to the south. The Ganges River, an essential waterway for the state, flows through it, providing fertile soil for agriculture. 

Topography:

The state comprises the vast Gangetic plains and the Chota Nagpur Plateau in the southern part, rich in mineral resources.

Climate:

Bihar has a tropical monsoon climate, characterized by hot summers, a monsoon season with significant rainfall, and cool winters.

 3. Culture 

Bihar has a rich cultural heritage, with deep roots in ancient traditions and a vibrant contemporary culture. The state is known for its classical music, folk music, and dance forms like Kathak.

Festivals:

Chhath Puja is the most significant festival in Bihar, celebrated with devotion and grandeur. Other important festivals include Diwali, Holi, Eid, and Makar Sankranti.

Cuisine:

The cuisine of Bihar is simple yet flavorful, with popular dishes such as Litti Chokha, Sattu Paratha, and sweets like Thekua and Khaja.

Language:

Hindi is the official language, while regional languages like Maithili, Bhojpuri, Magahi, and Urdu are also widely spoken. 

 4. Politics

Bihar has a dynamic political scene with a history of influential leaders and movements. The state's politics have been influenced by several regional parties, including the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Janata Dal (United), Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist) Liberation,Communist Party of India,Vikassheel Insaan Party , Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP),Indian National Congress (INC), Lok Janshakti Party (LJP),Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) and more.
